There are several things that I love; kick ass couples, mountains and beautiful weddings. That is exactly what we got for Erica and Corey’s Della Terra Winter Wedding.

I have had the amazing opportunity to photograph quite a few weddings at Della Terra and it is hands down one of my favorite wedding venues in Colorado. From the beautiful, jaw dropping reception space to the beautiful outdoor ceremony location. This is the first venue I recommend to couples looking for a mountain wedding venue.

Building the Timeline

About 8 months before Erica & Corey’s Della Terra Winter Wedding, Erica reached out to me wanted me to create a timeline for them. These two wanted to go into Rocky Mountain National Park for their Bride and Groom images. Being so close to RMNP from Della Terra this is always possible, but we (as photographers) need enough time to get there and back during the cocktail hour.

Seeing that this one of the most important parts of the day, I reserved the three of us almost 2 hours for Bride and Groom images. To be able to do this within their timeline, a first look was needed. This allows us to be able to photograph bridal party before the ceremony, which in turn frees up time during the cocktail hour.

The Wedding Day

As I arrived for their event, Erica was ready to go. Make-up and hair done, all that was left was the dress to be put on. Corey finished up getting ready and we headed outside for their first look. These two expressed their love to each other through their vows that they wrote. With watery eyes and smiles between them, it couldn’t have been anymore perfect.

In front of all their family and friends, they tied their love with the exchanging of the rings and their first kiss as a married couple. With the signing of the marriage license it became official, these two are now officially married!

Quickly following the ceremony, the three of us jumped in my truck and headed into the park. I know of a few spots that are private enough that we could shoot at without a lot of onlookers. With the wind blowing and the temperature starting to drop, we made good use of the park for the two hour allotment.

As the day progressed, you could see the love that these two share. From our 2 hour adventure in RMNP to their first dance as husband and wife. These two were made for each other and it shows.
