CRESTED BUTTE INTIMATE WEDDING
Ariel and Mark chose one of the most amazing backdrops for their Crested Butte Wedding. I don’t shoot a lot of weddings down in the south west part of the state, so I was pumped when I arrived to see the landscape for their intimate wedding.
Crested Butte is known as a ski town, but this weekend was part of their yearly bike festival. Crested Butte’s streets were crowded with locals and tourists on their bikes, cruising the streets. As the streets filled up, we were just outside of town capturing one of the most beautiful events I have had the opportunity to photograph.
Mark and Ariel held their wedding just outside of the main part of Crested Butte at Peanut Lake. The views that this lake offers has to be seen with your own eyes. With their closest friends and family in attendance, they watched along as Ariel and Mark expressed their love to each other.
While the ceremony concluded and the guests departed for the cocktail hour, the three of us stayed back to capture the love they share. It doesn’t happen often, but we had the whole location to ourselves. No guests, no tourists, no locals. Just the three of us, exploring the fields and the amazing mountain backdrop.
We headed back to the Sunflower Restaurant where the rest of the evening events were planned. This reception is my kind of reception. Everyone relaxing, conversations around and good food to be eaten.
As the evening came to end, I couldn’t feel more humbled that these two amazing souls have chosen me to capture their day. It wasn’t just beautiful. It was perfect.
