Carissa & Chris wanted jaw dropping views for their Colorado Mountain Engagement Session. I think I gave them just what they were looking for. Jaw Dropping Views.

This particular location is one of my favorite summer spots in Colorado. The road leading to this location is only open a few months out of the year as the snow and mud can be too much to drive up to the top. When the snow clears and the mud dries, you need a 4×4 vehicle to reach the lot where you begin your hike.

The moment Carissa and Chris said they wanted that ‘epic’ mountain view, this particular spot came into mind. We planned on photographing their adventure engagement session a month or so prior, but with unusual snow fall in late spring, the road remained closed longer than expected. Almost everyday I would check reports on the road. Closed is what I would find almost every time.

Finally, we had one of the warmest weeks of the summer. The snow began to melt, and the road finally opened. The three of us finally had a chance to meet up and explore this amazing place. We hiked around the lake taking in the view and crawling up the steep rock mountain. Capturing these two in this ‘epic’ location was by far one of my highlights of the summer.
