BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS ELOPEMENT
There was a lot of first for me throughout this trip, including shooting a British Virgin Islands Elopement. I have never been to this part of the world, so when Taylor and Ian asked me to be a part of their day, I jumped on the opportunity.
I met up with Taylor and Ian in Virgin Gorda where we would start their adventure. Our plan was to shoot at Baths National Park before we set sail. Baths National Park is absolutely beautiful. The large rock formations create caves the beautiful caves and the water from the sea runs at your feet. It’s one of those locations where I will come back to visit and explore more.
The three of us explored the caves while photographing the love between these two. Taylor jumped right into the water without a care of her dress getting super wet or dirty (brides take note). You wear the dress once, and at the end of the day, if it’s dirty, it was the perfect day.
As the day progressed and as we finished up the caves at Baths National Park, we headed towards the catamaran where we would spend the remaining hours of their elopement. Photographing an elopement on a boat was another first for me. I was stoked to see how the remaining part of the day would play out.
With Taylor and Ian’s family and closest friends aboard, we set sail to a pre-determined location where Taylor and Ian would hold their ceremony. We came upon the location, the sun went went behind the clouds for perfect lighting. Everyone on board went to the bow of the boat where Taylor and Ian would exchange vows and rings to on another. This intimate ceremony couldn’t have been anymore perfect and beautiful.
As the ceremony concluded, we headed to our final destination, Tortola. This is where we would conclude the remainder of their adventure. Champagne was popped and the first dance was made. It couldn’t have been anymore amazing. As the evening came to an end, jumping into the water off the boat was the perfect ending to the most perfect day.
I am beyond humbled that Taylor and Ian chose me to capture their day. Here is a little peek into Taylor and Ian’s elopement…enjoy!
